Can Singaporeans travel to Batam now?

It’s a BIG YES!

As of 22 February 2022, Singaporeans can travel to Nongsa, Batam.

Well, it’s not like you can skip the PCR and ART tests- the requirements are pretty similar to the air travel VTLs (Vaccinated travel lanes).

But hey, ferry VTLs are awesome for people who don’t want to go too far and want a quick recharge.

The best part is the cost! It’s going to cost you less than $1000 for a 3D2N stay. To put it into perspective, it’s roughly the same cost for a one-night at a 5-star hotel in Singapore.

If you are ready to plan your big escape, let’s dive right into the pool of information!

Ferry to Batam

Currently, only Batam Fast operates to Nongsapura ferry terminal and they are the designated ferry for VTL. Here are the ticket prices:

Type Destination Price in SGD
One way Batam to Singapore $78
One way Singapore to Batam $60
Round trip Singapore <> Batam $98

Take note that prices are applicable to all age group and nationalities and include the following:

  • Ticket fare
  • Surcharge
  • Singapore passenger departure fee (SGD 7)
  • Batam passenger departure fee (SGD 8)

Alternatively, you can go for the VTL packages that are available which include the ferry cost, PCR tests and insurance.

To be honest, a week in Batam might be a far stretch. You might want to consider a 3D2N trip – it’s just right for a recharge.

A word of advice: Check your packages for the number of people included.
