AOA - Angolan Kwanza currency

Angola flag Angola

The Angolan Kwanza (AOA) is the official currency of Angola, managed by the National Bank of Angola. It was first introduced in 1977, replacing the Escudo following Angola’s independence from Portugal. Due to economic instability and inflation, the Kwanza has undergone multiple redenominations. Angola's economy is heavily reliant on oil exports, diamonds, and agriculture, making the Kwanza’s exchange rate sensitive to global oil prices.
