The redenomination aimed to simplify transactions and reduce inflation?s impact by replacing 1,000 old dobras with 1 new dobra. The currency, issued by the Central Bank of S?o Tom? and Pr?ncipe, played a crucial role in the nation?s economy, which is largely dependent on cocoa exports and international aid. Due to its limited economic scale, S?o Tom? and Pr?ncipe also maintains close financial cooperation with Portugal and international institutions. The adoption of the new dobra has helped to stabilize the currency, making trade and banking operations more efficient.
