Ghana flag Ghana

The Ghanaian Cedi (GHS) is the official currency of Ghana, issued by the Bank of Ghana. Introduced in 2007, the current fourth cedi series replaced the previous unstable versions. The cedi is divided into 100 pesewas. Ghana’s banknotes feature Kwame Nkrumah, Ghanaian heritage, and economic symbols. Ghana’s economy is resource-rich, with gold, cocoa, and oil exports driving foreign exchange earnings. The cedi is known for inflationary pressures, leading the government to take monetary policy measures for stability.
